This Friday, Saturday and Sunday was the Foire de Lessay, which is the equivalent of a county fair. Friday and Saturday there are horses, donkeys and bovines for sale and every day their are dogs, cats and other beasts and fowl, side by side and cheek by jowl. This fair has been going on since the beginning of time (practically), as it was set up by Royal Decree in 1671, by the Benedictine Monks. Just 40 minutes from home and the beach house, we were hit with mixed weather. Too hot for a raincoat despite the occasional rain drop, we then got soaked to the skin at about 4pm and had to drive home with the kids dressed in towels and wellies! An interesting look!
